Weight Loss Training
Once you have gained enough mass and reached your muscle gain goal you will want to start doing some weight loss training in order to shed some of the excess body fat that you gained. This is completely normal even if you are on a program that is designed to have very minimal fat gain that fact that you need such a high calorie diet to make those gains mean that you will inevitably gain some fat along with the muscle. Therefore in order to have a bulked up physique that is well defined and ripped and chiseled you have to do some weight loss training after making your gains.
You have to start by switching to a lower calorie diet and modifying your workout so that you can maintain your current strength level without over stressing your muscles. This means not doing any negative reps, reducing the number of core exercises and doing more machine and isolation work.
Weight Loss Training Guidelines
Aerobic Exercise
To speed up weight loss you must perform some type of cardiovascular exercise in the morning on an empty stomach for 30-45 minutes with your heart rate around 140 beats per minute. This is the optimum range for burning fat if you go higher than that it would be more for endurance than burning fat. Also beware that if you have a high metabolism rate you would risk eating up muscle if you let your heart rate go above 140 beats per minute during your cardio training.
An excellent cardio exercise for burning fat is the stationary bike, running burns a lot of calories but what’s most important is keeping your heart rate around 140 beats per minute for 30-45 minutes. The purpose of cardiovascular exercise is to increase metabolism which causes your body to burn more fat. Studies have shown that your metabolism will remain elevated for up to 3 hours after doing just 45 minutes of cardio training and can remain elevated for more than 7 hours after doing 60 minutes of cardio.
Now you know what you need to do in order to shed that layer of stomach fat and reveal well defined ripped 6 pack abs.
